The Confederation of European Business (BUSINESSEUROPE)

TÜSİAD has been a member of the Confederation of European Business (BUSINESSEUROPE), the umbrella organization representing the European private sector, since 1987. TÜSİAD represents Turkey in BUSINESSEUROPE together with the Turkish Confederation of Employer Associations (TİSK). The TÜSİAD EU-Brussels Representative Office serves as a permanent delegation of BUSINESSEUROPE, in which a total of 41 industrialists and employer federations from 35 European countries are represented.
 
 
Business and Industry Advisory Committee (BIAC)

TÜSİAD has been a member of the Business and Industry Advisory Committee (BIAC), which operates within the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), since 1 August 1999. BIAC, an independent organization founded in March 1962 to represent the business world on a voluntary basis, is officially recognised by the OECD. The membership of BIAC is comprised of leading industrialist and employer organizations from twenty eight countries. It conveys its policy recommendations in line with its members’ views to the OECD and OECD member states. Murat ÖZYEĞİN, TÜSİAD Member, currently acts as Executive Board Vice Chairman of BIAC.
 
 
Union of Mediterranean Confederation of Enterprises  (BUSINESSMED)

The Union of Mediterranean Confederations of Enterprises (BUSINESSMED) was established during the Second Euro-Mediterranean Private Sector Summit held in İstanbul in March 2002. A founding member of the Union, TÜSİAD has been an observing member since 2009. BUSINESSMED is formed by the industrial federations of the 11 Mediterranean countries (Algeria, Morocco, the Palestinian Autonomous Territories, Israel, Cyprus, Lebanon, Malta, Egypt, Syria, Jordan and Tunisia) that take part in the European-Mediterranean cooperation process. The federations of Turkey, Italy, France, Spain and Greece are observer members of BUSINESSMED and the Mauritanian Federation is an associate member.
 
 
Union of Black Sea and Caspian Confederation of Enterprises (UBCCE) 

Established in November 2006 in Istanbul with the initiative of TÜSİAD, the Union of Black Sea and Caspian Confederation of Enterprises (UBCCE) is an international union composed by non-governmental, voluntary and independent business world organizations from the countries the Black Sea and Caspian and countries that have strong geographical ties to the region. The principle aim of the Union is to contribute to the economic and social development of the region by fostering institutionalized cooperation among its members and providing an opportunity for its members to conduct collective actions and send representations to their governments and business circles for the adaptation of policies that will enable the market economy to flourish and function in the most effective way. UBCCE aims to become a reliable partner in the region for the international business world and in particular for the representative organization of the European private sector, BUSINESSEUROPE.

 

 

   B20 Coalition

Since the London Summit in 2009, TÜSİAD has been participating in G20 business summits (B20 Summit) as the institutional representative of Turkish business. Within this framework, TÜSİAD attended and actively contributed to B20 summits at Seoul in 2010, at Cannes in 2011 and at Los Cabos in 2012.

Leading business associations of the G20 countries that came together in the B20 Cannes Summit in France, created a B20 brand and started to work on establishing a B20 Coalition following this summit.

A Memorandum of  Agreement was constituted on April 16, 2012 for the B20 Coalition, whose general secretariat was decided to be in Paris. By being one of the independent associations formed on the basis of voluntary membership principle, TÜSİAD signed this memorandum and became a founding member of the B20 Coalition. The purpose of the coalition is to deliver proposals to G20 leaders as a common voice of independent business associations, covering G20 countries.
 
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF)

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) is a leading international economic and business forum held annually in Russia. The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum was established in 1997. Since 2006 SPIEF is held under the patronage of the President of the Russian Federation. Over the past six years the Forum has transformed into a leading global business event, attracting over 5000 Russian and international participants, representing government and business leaders from around the world, joined by leading voices from academia, the media, and civil society. SPIEF gathers the world’s leading decision makers to identify and deliberate the key challenges facing emerging markets and growth economies, Russia and the world, and engage communities to find common purpose and establish frameworks to forge solutions.

TUSIAD, being the only "Regional Partner" of SPIEF from Turkey, is committed to this cooperation as it will provide the business communities of both sides with new instruments and fields of cooperation.

 
The Brookings Institute

The Brookings Institution is a nonprofit public policy organization based in Washington, DC. Its mission is to conduct high-quality, independent research and, based on that research, to provide innovative, practical recommendations on the American democracy;  the economic and social welfare, security and opportunity of all Americans; and a more open, safe, prosperous and cooperative international system.

TÜSİAD has had a joint Turkey program with Brookings since 2007 to explore the possibilities of mutual cooperation between Turkey and US alongside with events to elaborate Turkey’s political and economic dynamics in a comprehensive way. In 2013 "TUSIAD U.S. -Turkey Forum at Brookings" is established for a period of ten years. The aim of this partnership is to develop and deeply assess Turkey-US political, economic and social relations.
 

German Marshall Fund (GMF)

The German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF) strengthens transatlantic cooperation on regional, national, and global challenges and opportunities. As a non-partisan, non-profit organization, GMF maintains a strong presence on both sides of the Atlantic.

TÜSİAD has been a partner to the Trilateral Strategy Group organized by GMF alongside with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sweden and Koç Holding since 2009. This platform constitutes one of the basic trilateral dialogues among the US, the EU and Turkey and handles the common problems from a transatlantic perspective.
