TÜSİAD Board of Directors believe that in the coming period, of crucial importance for the global economy, the dynamism of the Turkish private sector will boost economy. To evaluate the new era with the representatives of the business world, the Board of Directors is visiting many provinces of Turkey through regional business federation of which TÜSİAD is a member.
As part of this series of meeting, a number of the monthly TÜSİAD Board meetings will be made in various cities and gathering with representatives from different regions and different industries will be organized. In this context, TÜSİAD Board of Directors met on April 19th, 2012, in Kayseri. Following the Board meeting, Board members and business representatives of the region convened at the Kayseri Chamber of Industry to discuss the economic outlook and foreign policy.
Welcoming speeches of the meeting were delivered by Ms. Ümit Boyner, President of the Board of Directors of TÜSİAD, and by Mr. Mustafa Boydak, President of the Kayseri Chamber of Industry.
In her speech Ms. Ümit Boyner expressed her expectation that “the new incentive package contributes to the regional development without conflicting with the principles of fair competition, encourage economies of scale and strengthen the innovative capacity”.
In the meeting, TÜSİAD Adviser Mr. Soli Özel made a presentation about the current issues of foreign policy focusing on Syria, Iran and Iraq. TÜSİAD chief economist Mr Cem Doğan contributed with a presentation titled “Economic Outlook and the Relationship between the Growth and the Current Account Deficit”.
