Azmi Gümüşlüoğlu was born in 1969 in Ankara. He completed his high school education at Ankara Atatürk Anatolian High School and his undergraduate education at Bilkent University, Department of Business Administration in 1992. Afterwards, he successfully completed his MBA at New Hampshire College and Direct Marketing at Harvard, respectively. He is married and the father of two children.

Having started his professional career at American Frozen Foods in the USA, Gümüşlüoğlu returned to his homeland and started to work at Nestlé, the world's largest food company. During this time, he worked in various positions in countries such as the United States of America, Azerbaijan, Egypt, and France, apart from Türkiye. Gümüşlüoğlu, who also worked as the Vice President of Commercial Operations at Yaşar Holding for a short time, later joined Zyman Core Strategy Group, one of the important marketing and management consultancy companies in America and successfully carried out the company's Türkiye and Middle East operations until 2012. Later, that year, Gümüşlüoğlu joined Ferrero, one of the world's largest chocolate producers, and is currently working as Ferrero Türkiye Çikolata General Manager and Regional Director for TIPA.

Azmi Gümüşlüoğlu previously served as a Board Member of the Advertisers’ Association and the International Advertising Association. He currently serves as a Board Member of the Italian Chamber of Commerce and, as of February 2025, continues his role as a Board Member of YASED – the International Investors Association.

Between February 2019 and March 2022, Azmi Gümüşlüoğlu served as Vice Chair of the Investment Climate Round Table within the TÜSİAD Board of Directors. As of May 2021, he has also been serving as Chair of the TÜSİAD Italy Network.

Elected as an Alternate Member of the TÜSİAD Board of Directors at the March 2022 TÜSİAD General Assembly, Azmi Gümüşlüoğlu has been serving as a Member of the Board of Directors since 2025. Between 2022 and 2025, he held the positions of Vice Chair of the EU and Transatlantic Relations Round Table and Vice Chair of the Energy and Environment Round Table. As of 2026, he serves as Co-Chair of Global Economic Relations.

“Turkey-Europe Future Forum” organized by TÜSİAD/Berlin Bosphorus Initiative and Mercator Stiftung is a training program for 31 young leaders between the ages of 25-38 from Turkey, Germany and Europe.
