Ms. Ümit Boyner, President of the Board of Directors of TÜSİAD participated to the symposium on “The Impacts of the Unregistered Economy” organized by Young Businessmen Association of Turkey (TÜGİAD) an she delivered a speech.
In her speech Ms. Ümit Boyner indicated that one of the worst effects of the increase of the share of indirect taxes on the Turkish economy is its negative impact on the fight against the unregistered economy which may even constitute an encouragement of unregistered activities.
Ms. Ümit Boyner expressed that the efforts towards keeping the public finance balanced as the primary target of the measures taken in the sphere of public finance are correct and valuable, and she said: “TÜSİAD underline that the indirect tax revenues, constantly increasing as these taxes are easily implemented and registered, is not sustainable. I want to draw your attention once again that a tax reform which contributes to the justice in taxation and income distribution, to the environment of competition and to the resource efficiency, together with a public spending reform providing resilience against crises, has become indispensable.
