TÜSİAD’s publication “GÖRÜŞ” covers the issue of energy in its June issue. Under the cover headline “ENERGY: THE DIFFICULT EQUILIBRIUM”, the magazine’s new issue includes a number of articles discussing diverse dimensions of the subject, with expert and comprehensive cover of the debate on nuclear energy, energy efficiency, renewables, the global energy order and energy exchanges.
The President of TÜSİAD Ms. Ümit Boyner contributes to the issue with an article headlined “A Critical Decade for Energy Equilibrium”. Stressing that Turkey will be competing in an era when the economic order is set to be framed by sustainable development principles, Boyner specifies that this new economic order will be increasingly defined by overlapping and interrelated issues such as the achievement of energy supply security and the climate change challenge. The President of TÜSİAD specifies the need to set the right environment for the solution of this tough energy equilibrium through realization of energy and climate policies under the “2023 vision” (the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Turkish Republic). Boyner continues with a reminder of the need for Turkey to make essential decisions to invigorate investment and finance, if the country is to take good advantage of the opportunities of the coming decade. Ümit Boyner lists TÜSİAD’s priority fields in the energy sector as liberalization of energy markets, development of renewable energy sources, gaining energy productivity, all within the framework of sustainable development principles.
The new issue of GÖRÜŞ also covers current debates on the issue of the internet. TBV (Turkey Informatics Foundation) President Faruk Eczacıbaşı and TÜBİSAD (Informatics Industry Association) President Turgut Gürsoy, look at the issue from their different perspectives. The magazine also looks at one of the other great topics of the day, namely the debate about the possible establishment of a presidential system in Turkey. TÜSİAD International Coordinator Dr. Bahadır Kaleağası’s article looks at practices from around the world. The new issue also analyses the governing party’s economic policies from the perspective of the political parties’ pre-election manifestoes. GÖRÜŞ also has an interview with the Danish Ambassador Ole Egberg.
