Applications have opened for the “TÜSİAD Best Young Lawyer Award” for lawyers under the age of 40. The awards are designed to raise public consciousness of the state of law and encourage lawyers’ independent work and studies.
Every year the awards carry a different theme; the theme for 2011 is “Civil Trial Law”.
Award submissions are expected to:
• Concern the issue of “Expert Witnesses” in “Civil Trial Law”
• Discuss the role of the expert witness in trials in terms of a comparative analysis
• Evaluate the situation of the expert witness’s contribution in the Turkish trial process and recommend solutions.
Application Conditions
Applications for the TÜSİAD Best Young Lawyer Award must be submitted by 31st December 2011.
Work Submitted for the Award will be expected to:
• Approach the subject from a different perspective from existing analyses and from a mature point of view,
• Expand and develop current discussions to new dimensions or give rise to fresh discussion,
• Fill significant legal gaps towards finding a solution,
• Inspire further work.
Applicants:
• Must be Turkish citizens
• Must have completed or be undergoing undergraduate or postgraduate legal training
• Be under the age of 40 on the closing day for submissions.
Application Procedure:
• Applicant’s detailed CV with photograph,
• A list of all work and studies completed by the applicant up until today,
• Work being submitted for consideration towards the Award (published or unpublished reports, books, articles, notes etc.)
• The above needs to be submitted to TÜSİAD by the closing date either electronically or in 6 paper copies. The winner will be announced in January 2012. The winner will receive 10,000 TL.
• TÜSİAD will have the reproduction and publication rights for the winning work.
