TÜSİAD Parliamentary Affairs Committee visits Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), and meets regularly with the relevant specialized commissions and Assembly group deputy chairmen of the political parties, to exchange views and discuss about issues on the agenda.
In this framework, TÜSİAD Parliamentary Affairs Committee visited Ankara on November 28th, 2012, and met with Mr Egemen Bağış, Minister of EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator with the EU, ret. Amb. Volkan Bozkır, Chairman of the TBMM Foreign Affair Commission, Mr. Mustafa Elitaş, Group Deputy Chairmen of the Justice and Development Party (AK Party), Mr. Muharrem İnce, Group Deputy Chairmen of the Republican People's Party (CHP), Mr. Oktay Vural Group Deputy Chairmen of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) and Mr. İdris Baluken Group Deputy Chairmen of the Peace and Democracy Party (BDP).
TÜSİAD delegation headed by Mr. Haluk Dinçer, Vice President of the Board of Directors of TÜSİAD and President of the Parliamentary Affairs Committee, exchanged views with their interlocutors mainly about the process of the preparation of a new constitution, currently on the agenda of the Constitutional Conciliation Committee. The discourse of the four political parties having a TBMM group confirming their commitment to do everything possible to complete the process with a conciliatory solution is noted with contentment.
However it is also observed that within the context of the democratization process, particularly in such problematic issues as the new constitution, government systems and Kurdish problem, a stronger and more constructive, consensus oriented dialogue among the political parties is needed.
During the meetings, 2012 Progress Report published in the previous month, EU accession process and other domestic and foreign policy issues were also discussed.
TÜSİAD: “A stronger and more constructive, consensus oriented dialogue among the political parties is needed."
