The High Advisory Council of the Turkish Industry and Business Association (TÜSİAD) convened in Istanbul on October 19, 2021.
The President of the Turkish Industry and Business Association (TÜSİAD) Simone Kaslowski delivered opening remarks at the High Advisory Council meeting, which convened online. The High Advisory Council is a biannual deliberative conference where the business world takes stock of domestic and global political and economic developments and offers suggestions to policy makers from a business perspective.
Turkey’s decision to withdraw from the Istanbul Convention, or the “Council of Europe Convention on Preventing and Combating Violence Against Women and Domestic Violence,” encourages a twisted mindset which fosters violence against women. This decision has irreparable consequences and will not support the state in combating violence.
